Media coverage is biased, and we’ve all seen it. The left has used the media to push their narrative on different situations regardless of the constitution and statutory law and sensationalized stories like the Kyle Rittenhouse story that sways heavily toward self-defense. Still, it’s unclear what the jury will rule.
Judge Bruce Schroeder dismissed the underage weapons charge in the Rittenhouse trial, so that’s not even a determination at this point for the jury to determine. The charge was dropped due to a hunting provision in the law that allows for carrying the type of rifle that Rittenhouse was having.
So with the weapons violation off the table, the only thing left is the murder and assault with a deadly weapon charge. The only living involved party said that Rittenhouse didn’t shoot until he raised his arm in Rittenhouse’s direction with a pistol pointed at Rittenhouse. There shouldn’t be a question that Rittenhouse acted in self-defense at that point. Then, the media’s narrative that all guns are wrong and White supremacy runs rampant around the United States. A claim that can’t be substantiated, so they have to twist scenarios to fit their narrative. The Rittenhouse trial isn’t exempt.
There are currently 500 members of the Wisconsin National Guard waiting for the trial verdict as the jury deliberates. The mostly peaceful protests that occurred in 2020 could very well be the cause of even more destruction this time around, depending on the jury’s verdict. If they acquit him on all charges, as is expected, there will surely be peaceful protests in the streets, and the peaceful protesters may even burn down the courthouse.
The first involved party, Joseph Rosenbaum, had recently been released from a nearby hospital after getting mental health treatment and was arguably the only White man in Kenosha using the “N” word at the protests and riots that were going on. Surprisingly, he was still standing by the time he encountered Rittenhouse after Rosenbaum threatened to kill Rittenhouse and his friends throughout the night.
The next involved party, Anthony Huber, hit Rittenhouse in the neck with a skateboard. A skateboard weighs around 11 pounds. It could quickly kill someone. The skateboard’s use as an assault object signifies that Rittenhouse had a right to defend himself against the attack. The fact that Rittenhouse survived the initial strike from the skateboard is incredible but also doesn’t require him to retreat when the attack continues. Rittenhouse was thrown to the ground from the initial strike, which forced his hand into the situation.
After Rittenhouse shot and killed Huber, a man tried to kick Rittenhouse but failed in his attempt to hinder Rittenhouse. Then, Gaige Grosskreutz approached Rittenhouse while he was still on the ground. Grosskreutz testified that when he raised his pistol and pointed it at Rittenhouse, he was shot in the bicep by Rittenhouse. Grosskreutz testified that he didn’t mean to imply his gun at Rittenhouse, but that doesn’t mean Rittenhouse can’t defend himself. If Grosskreutz had fired his pistol at Rittenhouse, he would likely be testifying that he didn’t tell to fire it at him.
The media coverage of the Rittenhouse trial is painting a picture that Rittenhouse is a White supremacist and an agitator. Yet, Rittenhouse gave up the body armor that he initially had in Kenosha. Rittenhouse testified that he bought the sling for his rifle because he wanted the gun to remain intact on his body while he rendered aid.
If the verdict comes back that Rittenhouse is innocent, there may be more than a trial that Kenosha has to worry about as 500 National Guard members deploy to Kenosha, Wisconsin.
