Amber Ruffin, the talented comedian and writer known for her work on “Late Night with Seth Myers,” has been selected to host the prestigious White House Correspondents’ Association’s Dinner this April. Ruffin, who hosts her own show and has been openly critical of former President Donald Trump, previously created a jazz-inspired musical piece expressing her unfavorable views of him.
Following the 2020 election, Ruffin performed “I Don’t Wish Him Well,” which included the lyrics: “I wish him health so he’d live a very long life. He’d live to see a divorce from his twenty wife. She’d bleed him dry, and he’d die penniless. But, I don’t wish him well.”

The song continues with: “I wish him adventures in life on the grandest scale. More specifically the kind that you find in jail. But that won’t be so bad, ‘cuz that’s where all his friends are. I don’t wish him well,” and “I wish him hope in his heart that replaces his rage. He gets his ass beat by kids that he kept in a cage. And they played that shit on pay-per-view. But I don’t wish him well.”
Music enthusiasts can find the satirical track on popular streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple, and Amazon Music.

FYI: Trump was too chicken to attend any of the WHCA dinners during his 1st term. The dinners raise funds for journalism students. https://t.co/TUhbhb1fN6

While Ruffin is expected to include Trump in her comedic material at the dinner, the former president’s attendance remains uncertain. During his presidency, Trump consistently avoided the event, choosing instead to conduct rallies in key electoral states.
Currently, Ruffin can be seen co-hosting the newly renewed CNN comedy program “Have I Got News for You.”
