First Daughter Ashley Biden owes the state of Pennsylvania government about $5,000 in back taxes, according to a recent report. The news comes after President Joe Biden’s son Hunter was charged for allegedly not paying more than $1 million in federal income taxes.
The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue’s Philadelphia County office placed a $5,079.44 tax lien on her property, according to a Dec. 1 document.
The state accuses Ashley Biden of not paying state income taxes between 2015 and 2021. Part of this period includes the time that Joe Biden was vice president and the first year of his administration.
In addition to the non-payment charges levied by the state, Ashley Biden was also asked to pay additional costs, including a filing fee.
The news about Biden’s daughter came just weeks after Hunter Biden was charged in relation to the reported non-payment of about $1.4 million in unpaid taxes.

The First Son is being prosecuted on nine counts, including three felony charges. Special counsel David Weiss accused Hunter Biden of not filing taxes in multiple years, and not paying taxes on millions in income, including from foreign sources.
Both Hunter Biden and the president’s brother James scored large sums from foreign companies, including from Ukraine, Russia and China. Hunter Biden served on the board of the Ukrainian energy company Burisma during his father’s time as vice president at a stipend of $1 million per year.
The indictment on federal tax charges also came after Weiss’ office indicted Hunter Biden on federal felony firearms charges earlier this year.
If convicted on all charges, Hunter Biden could face 17 years in prison.
The news also comes as Republicans in Congress attempt to track down the millions i payments to different accounts tied to the Biden family. The House Oversight Committee released two images of checks written to the president from his brother James labeled “loan repayment.”
The White House has denied any wrongdoing during the current cases.
