President Joe Biden is not running his administration, but he is responsible for every bungled act in the White House because he was too timid to retire and stay in his basement. Instead, he allowed himself to be used by his party to take over the executive branch.
Corruption and incompetence ooze from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue as Biden scrambles to fill a key post with a more acceptable nominee. We can expect another acolyte of the Obama-Biden Fast and Furious method of gun control to enter the process soon.
Last week Biden rescinded his selection of David Chipman to lead the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF). Of the many controversial anti-second amendment proposals Chipman, and by extension the Democrats through their sock puppet Biden, have offered would be the ban of so-called assault weapons instead of weapons that do not “assault” anyone or anything.
By the way, military-style machine guns are already severely limited for use, purchased, and banned in many cases. Manufacturing new machine guns were actively banned by the Firearm Owners Protection Act of 1986 (FOPA). According to state laws, machine guns registered before this act are grandfathered in and may be transferred among civilians.
Republicans like Senator Tom Cotton (AR) wanted a definition of an assault weapon, which Chipman could not provide. Instead, he offered a blanket statement that would essentially ban all sports guns. Cotton said that he is happy to see President Biden has removed Chipman. In a June floor speech, Senate Minority Leader Republican Mitch McConnell (KY) said he was opposed to Chipman building the case against him.
Once again, our freedoms hinge on the conscience of fringe Senators Independent Angus King (ME), Democrat Joe Manchin (WV), and Jon Tester (MT). These members of Congress are being led by colleagues such as Cotton, the Strategic Turtle McConnell, and Republican Senators Hurl Grassley (IA), the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, who reported that the Equal Opportunity Employment Commission examined Chipman for bias and discrimination.
Biden has now pulled two significant kitchen cabinet nominees in what is fast becoming the most inept administration in American history. Neera Tanden, from the misnamed Center for American Progress, was thwarted in her nomination for the Office of Management and Budget. In March, Sen. Joe Manchin objected to her online media posts slamming Republicans. Now Tanden gets to serve as White House senior counselor. But the media are not singing the Titanic songs in an analogy about rearranging the deck chairs on a sinking ship.
An administrative state hack, David Chipman had his eyes on the Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco position for years. Republican lawmakers and gun rights activists rightly pointed out that his 25-year background in the AFT was compromised when he began campaigning with gun control groups. Like most liberal approaches to gun control, Chipman refuses to address criminality, gang violence, suicide, and the justified need for self-defense and instead rails against school shooters and law-abiding citizens. He seems to think that new and better gun laws would have stopped felons like the man who ambushed Florida deputies. But according to the Brevard County Sheriff, “Evil can never be dead enough.”
Chipman additionally lied in 2019 under oath. He was part of the AFT when a search warrant was issued as a pretext for storming the cult leader David Koresh’s compound in Waco, Texas. Chipman denied the agency’s involvement. But the accusation of amassing weapons allowed the FBI to slaughter 76 individuals, including 20 kids. He did not characterize this use of weapons as an assault.
Biden still thinks that Chipman is the best and brightest he has to offer. Liberals believe that Republicans are tools of the NRA when most firearm advocates have distanced themselves from the non-profit group. Instead, vigorous Americans want their Constitutionally guaranteed right to defend themselves upheld. Biden thinks that the politicization of gun control is the problem. His idea suggests that if we just held hands and snagged kumbaya, we could find a genuine way to address people getting shot.
