Democrats lost voters by focusing on wrong issues

Prominent comedian Bill Maher delivered a scathing critique of the Democratic Party, suggesting their electoral defeat in the 2024 presidential race stemmed from an obsession with woke issues that failed to resonate with mainstream voters.

“Democrats have become like a royal family that, because of so much incest, has unfortunately had children who are r——d,” Maher said to audience applause.

“And the same thing can happen to ideas if they are also conceived in an atmosphere of intellectual incest. Maybe take the clothespins off your noses and actually converse with the other half of the country,” Maher added.

“Stop screaming at people to get with the program and instead make a program worth getting with.”

The political commentator particularly criticized Democrats’ steadfast position on transgender athletes in women’s sports, highlighting recent controversy involving Massachusetts Representative Seth Moulton’s comments about protecting his daughters from competing against transgender athletes, which led to a staff member’s departure.

“Let me make this as plain as I can to the smart people — the campaign manager who resigned, yeah, let that person go. Marginalize that guy,” Maher sniffed.

In his analysis, Maher referenced data showing disconnects between progressive white Americans and minority communities, noting that Hispanic voters strongly favored enhanced border security while African Americans placed less emphasis on racism compared to their white progressive counterparts.

“The votes are in — they don’t want your pity, and black people can’t afford to indulge rich white people’s need to endlessly flagellate themselves.

“They just want prices to go down and good jobs and the police, when you call them,” Maher said.
