Fact Checkers are Subtly Correcting Biden, But is That Enough?

If a Republican says something that’s incorrect then it’s a lie, but according to mainstream media, a Democrat lie is mis-speaking. It’s convenient that the media can correct President Joe Biden and everything is fine because the correct information gets to the public, but Republicans are called liars when they misquote a specific subject.

Biden said, “If your home is powered by safer, cheaper, cleaner electricity like solar or heat pumps, you can save about $500 a month on average.”

That’s absolutely false and there are very simple ways to show that it’s false.

According to Electric Choice, a 2016 average electric price per home is nowhere near $500 a month. Even with inflation, the average monthly cost of electricity isn’t at $500. If you’re talking about commercials then $500 a month is more of an average but to be honest it’s likely a bit more than that. To even out the claim of $500 a month, solar panels would not only have to be free, but an extra couple hundred dollars would have to be handed out to anyone using solar and that’s not going to happen.

Even in 2019, the price of electricity hasn’t changed enough to cover a savings of $500 per month.

The Associative Press covered for Biden. The “fact-checkers” aren’t exactly doing their job to disprove, but rather make excuses for Biden.

The Associative Press reported, “President Joe Biden vastly overpromised Thursday when he told Americans they can expect savings of $500 a month by transitioning to renewable energy. It’s possible they might save that much over a year, not per month. Biden addressed the subject while announcing plans to order the release of 1 million barrels of oil per day from the strategic petroleum reserve for the next six months. Biden is grappling with fallout from surging energy prices, including gasoline that has reached an average of $4.23 per gallon, after the United States banned imports of Russian oil and gas.”

The political elites don’t actually care to give accurate information. The fact checkers may be correcting Biden, but the correction is subtle. Biden keeps inaccurately reporting important information and it’s confusing.
