GOP Congressman Reacts to January 6 Democrat Secrecy

Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) appeared on “Unfiltered with Dan Bongino” on Fox News Saturday and reacted to the refusal of Joe Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland to answer questions about how many federal agents were present at the Capitol riots on January 6, 2021.

Donalds pointed out that Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been actively blocking questions from Republicans who also want to know why the National Guard deployment authorized by President Donald Trump two days before the riot did not take place.

The Florida Congressman added that neither Garland nor Pelosi have been willing to explain where they had “embedded FBI assets” at the riot. He also pointed to the intelligence report the FBI had sent to the U.S. Capitol Police three or four days ahead of January 6.

Donalds is a member of the House Oversight Committee and said that it was during two hearings last year in which “Republicans started really digging in” to the same questions that Pelosi “shut it down.”

Although Garland has refused to discuss the presence of federal officers on January 6, members of Pelosi’s committee have been eager this week to demand the Justice Department consider an unprecedented indictment of President Donald Trump.

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) is a member of the January 6 Committee and the House Intelligence Committee. He said that he doesn’t believe the Justice Department is doing enough to investigate what he believes were efforts “to overturn the election.”

Schiff added that the Justice Department will have to make a decision if it can prove the president’s guilt to a jury after the evidence is investigated. He went on to say that he believes there is “credible evidence” of federal crimes.

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) said that he believes the committee has laid out the criminal statutes he thinks Trump has violated. He said that he thinks that Garland “knows what’s at stake here.”

Garland has also refused to tell Democrats, at least publicly, how he will proceed to address their demands that he prosecute President Trump.

It does appear obvious that the major motivation of Democrats is to prevent another Trump run for the White House, whether it be through a political criminal prosecution or using Pelosi’s hand-picked committee as a stalking horse in the media.
