Russia PLOTS to KILL CEO
As part of a sabotage campaign against Ukrainian friends and support throughout Europe, the U.S., and Germany were able to foil a Russian plot that was intended to kill the director of a major German arms manufacturer, according to intelligence sources.
Germany’s foreign minister, Annalena Baerbock, stated on the fringes of this week’s NATO meeting, “In view of the latest reports on Rheinmetall, this is what we have actually been communicating more and more clearly in recent months: Russia is waging a hybrid war of aggression.”
“We have seen that there have been attacks on people on European territory,” she said. “We have seen that there have been attacks on factories, and this underlines once again that we as Europeans must protect ourselves as best we can and not be naive.”
Five Western and American officials who were acquainted with the incident were cited in CNN’s initial story on the allegation, which stated that it was one of “a series” of conspiracies to kill defense sector leaders throughout Europe in an attempt to destroy Ukraine’s support system. Large artillery shells, which Rheinmetall is the industry leader in producing, are essential to Ukraine’s defense against Russia’s ongoing conflict. In the upcoming weeks, the manufacturer even intends to construct an armored vehicle manufacturing in Ukraine.
Since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine, Rheinmetall has been a “thorn in Moscow’s side,” according to The Guardian. Rheinmetall has given Ukraine a variety of armaments and tanks, such as the Leopard 1 tank and Marder infantry fighting vehicles. Earlier this year, there was a plot to kill Armin Papperger, the CEO of Rheinmetall. American intelligence discovered the scheme and alerted their German counterparts so they could take appropriate action. After the occurrence, Rheinmetall was later told by German intelligence about what had happened.
Politico was informed by a Rheinmetall spokesman that there was only a “plot” that the German intelligence prevented from progressing rather than any real attempt. In order to protect employees, the corporation further emphasized that “necessary measures are always taken” in coordination with security authorities. The plan to kill Papperger would come “straight out of [Russian President Vladimir] Putin’s Playbook,” according to Rebekah Koffler, a freelance consultant for international, politics, and world events who spoke with Fox Events Digital. Koffler also addressed the “wet deeds” philosophy.
“Wet deeds,” according to Koffler, are targeted assassinations carried out by Russian intelligence services to eliminate the so-called enemies of the state on Putin’s orders. He also clarified that such actions are permitted by Russian federal law to counter “extreme activity,” which includes murders, kidnappings, poisonings, “forced suicides,” and “other acts of intimidation and murder.” Speaking to reporters during the NATO summit in Washington, D.C., a senior NATO official stated that Moscow is involved in arson, sabotage, and murder plots—”things that have cost in human lives.” Moscow has also stepped up its efforts to undermine Ukraine’s network of support throughout Europe.
“I believe very much that we’re seeing a campaign of cover sabotage activities from Russia that have strategic consequences,” said the official.
