Netanyahu MOCKS Campus PROTESTORS
In a joint address to Congress on Wednesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called those demonstrating against his country’s war effort on college campuses “Iran’s useful idiots” and encouraged the US to continue supporting Israel in its efforts to eradicate Hamas terrorists.
“Many anti-Israel protesters, many choose to stand with evil, they stand with Hamas, they stand with rapists and murderers,” Netanyahu said.
The Israeli leader used a statement from the US Office of the Director of National Intelligence, which disclosed Iran’s financial support for antisemitic protests that occurred on college campuses this spring, to further his argument.
Shortly after, the prime minister declared that he would “salute the fraternity brothers at the University of North Carolina,” who had stood up to anti-Israel demonstrators who wanted to raise a Palestinian flag in its place by defending the American flag.
Netanyahu began his statement to Congress by declaring that US support for his country’s war against Hamas terrorists was ultimately “a clash between barbarism and civilizations.”
A little after 2:00 p.m., Netanyahu entered the chamber and expressed his gratitude to President Biden for his “heartfelt support” of Israel as well as senior legislative leaders “for giving me the profound honor for addressing this great citadel of democracy for the fourth time.”
The Israeli leader opened by saying, “We are at a crossroads in history; our world is in upheaval.”
He declared, “This is not a clash of civilizations; it’s a clash between barbarism and civilizations, between those who sanctify life and those who glorify death. It is not a clash of civilizations.”
“America and Israel must stand together,” he declared. “Because when we stand together something very simple happens: we win, they lose.”
More than 240 people—most of them Israeli citizens—were taken captive and more than 1,200 people were slain.
As the Biden administration deliberates on a possible cease-fire agreement and the hostage release, fewer than 120 people are being held captive in Gaza. Because numerous Democrats boycotted the Israeli PM’s speech, there were fewer people on one side of the chamber than the other.
Vice President Kamala Harris left for a prearranged event with one of the Indianapolis “Divine Nine” historically black universities. Normally, Vice President Harris would attend the joint meeting of Congress. On Thursday, she and President Biden will have separate meetings with Netanyahu at the White House.
In response to the Biden administration’s “second-guessing” of the Israeli government’s war effort, Johnson stated in an interview conducted the night before Bibi’s arrival that they could anticipate a statement on “the importance of America’s resolve and our support.”
“Israel is fighting for its own survival,” the Speaker of the House declared. “Israel is probably in its most desperate situation since regaining its independence.”
