Kylie Jenner’s notable absence from the 2025 SAG Awards alongside Timothée Chalamet was due to a devastating personal loss – the unexpected passing of her longtime hairstylist and close friend, Jesus Guerrero, at age 34.
The somber news was announced just before the awards ceremony through a GoFundMe page created by his sister, Gris Guerrero, who wrote, “It is with a heavy heart that we let the world know that Jesus Guerrero has gone to heaven. He is a son, a brother, an uncle, an artist, a friend, and so much more. Unfortunately, his passing came very suddenly and unexpectedly.”
While the cause of death remains undisclosed, his family expressed their grief on Instagram, sharing their struggles with the sudden loss. Jenner, 27, who frequently showcased Jesus’s artistic work on her social media platforms, has yet to address his passing publicly.

In her absence, Chalamet attended the ceremony solo, sporting a striking black leather blazer suit accented with neon green. He was accompanied by his mother, Nicole Flender, and the pair were seated together at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
The evening proved triumphant for Chalamet, who secured the best actor award for his portrayal of Bob Dylan in “A Complete Unknown.” During his acceptance speech, he shared, “I’m as inspired by Daniel Day-Lewis and Marlon Brando and Viola Davis as I am by Michael Jordan and Michael Phelps, and I want to be up there. So I’m deeply grateful to that. This does not signify that, but it’s a little more fuel, it’s a little more ammo to keep going. Thank you so much.”

In a post-show interview, Chalamet revealed his mother’s humbling response to his historic win as the youngest recipient of the best actor SAG award: “She said, ‘Don’t forget to fold your laundry.’ And I was like, ‘Really? This moment? Really, this moment? I just won this award and I’m 29 years old and you’re chastising me still?'”
The actor’s success may continue at the upcoming 2025 Oscars, where he’s nominated for best actor alongside Adrien Brody, Ralph Fiennes, Colman Domingo, and Sebastian Stan. However, Jenner’s attendance remains uncertain following this recent loss.
The couple had previously made headlines with their appearances at the Golden Globes and their affectionate display at the 2025 BAFTA Awards.
