Under Garland’s leadership, the Department of Justice has faced criticism for what many view as targeted actions against conservative figures. The department’s controversial moves have included pursuing legal action against Trump, orchestrating the Mar-a-Lago raid, and scrutinizing those who questioned the 2020 election outcome.
Additional contentious actions include the department’s involvement in school board meeting disputes, investigations into Project Veritas, restrictions on DOJ staff communications with Congress, and the handling of cases involving Hunter Biden and Joe Biden’s classified documents.
“I think a lot of people in Washington, if they were to be honest, would admit that the FBI and the Department of Justice have a very big problem. But they also know that if they were to tackle that, it would, admittedly, help Donald Trump,” The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway told Fox News. “That’s one of his big cases. And they are not willing to do it. And so they are allowing the FBI and the Department of Justice to be weaponized and to be politicized rather than to tackle this huge problem,” she added.

McConnell’s tenure as Senate leader has been marked by several controversial outcomes, including substantial national debt increases, continued immigration challenges, and wage stagnation among American workers. His leadership period also saw the implementation of Obamacare, financial institution bailouts, and unchecked social media censorship.
