The Duchess of Sussex encountered another setback with her lifestyle brand As Ever when she reportedly failed to properly sign trademark application documents submitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office, according to the Daily Mail.
Officials returned the paperwork, requesting clarification on various product descriptions, including items like spoons and fruit preserves. The office also instructed Markle to organize goods and services by international class numbers.
This isn’t the first time the 43-year-old has faced signature-related issues, having made similar oversights with previous ventures including The Tig lifestyle blog and her Archetypes podcast on Spotify.
Why would Netflix partner with Megs? She is a magnet for having no credibility.

The latest complications come after Markle had to pivot from her original brand name, American Riviera Orchard, to As Ever. “There are tons of twists and turns — even with the name,” she told People earlier this month, adding, “I was figuring it out in real time.”
“I appreciate everyone who gave me the grace to make mistakes and figure it out and also to be forgiving with myself through that. It’s a learning curve,” she added.
MegSux now has three months to respond to the trademark office to stop her attempts to register As Ever from being abandoned.

Further challenges emerged when her clothing trademark application was denied due to the existing Chinese brand ASEVER. “The marks are identical in sound and virtually identical in appearance and are thus confusingly similar for the purposes of determining likelihood of confusion,” the rejection document stated.
Adding to her troubles, a Spanish politician raised concerns about the As Ever logo’s resemblance to a Mallorcan village’s coat of arms.
Despite these obstacles, Markle plans to launch several products in partnership with Netflix, including raspberry jam, wildflower honey, crepe mix, herbal teas, and shortbread cookies decorated with flower sprinkles, which will also be sold separately as meal garnishes.
