NEW Trump Shooting Bodycam FOOTAGE
Sen. Chuck Grassley, a Republican from Iowa, has released new video that shows the confusion that existed at the location where former President Donald Trump was shot on July 13 following the death of the would-be assassin.
Members of the Secret Service and Beaver County Emergency Services Unit can be seen on the roof where Thomas Matthew Crooks shot Trump from an elevated position in a video that Grassley’s office uploaded to YouTube.
In addition to showing the gunman’s lifeless body and a bloodstain, the footage also depicts law enforcement officials attempting to comprehend the events that had just occurred.
On his website, Grassley outlined a few issues raised by the bodycam footage.
“A review of the footage by Grassley’s office particularly raises questions regarding the fragmented and delayed chain of communication between local and federal law enforcement,” the release said.
Grassley said he also was concerned by “a seemingly delayed response in identifying and disabling a potential detonator device, including a potential device located next to the deceased shooter.”
Two explosive devices were then reported to have been discovered in Crooks’ car, but FBI Director Christopher Wray stated that further investigation determined Crooks was unable to set them off from the roof where he shot Trump and was subsequently killed, as reported by CBS.
“The video footage additionally records law enforcement discussing the need to use a drone to inspect and secure the water tower on site,” the release said.
According to the statement, the Secret Service “had assigned an Unmanned Aerial System drone operator to the event,” according to information obtained by Grassley.
“Despite this, FBI Director Christopher Wray yesterday testified to the House Judiciary Committee that the shooter successfully flew his own drone around the venue two hours before opening fire,” Grassley noted in the release.
Grassley stated that the American people ought to be fully informed about what happened during the July 23 release of audio and video.
Over the last ten days, concerns about the disastrous security breach that happened on July 13 have only grown.
The public should be involved in this assassination attempt since it is a significant public interest issue. Grassley stated, “I’m releasing these records as part of my efforts to hold agencies accountable and to get answers.”
In a separate letter that Grassley made public, he asked for the Secret Service’s operational security plan for the day of the Trump rally from Alejandro Mayorkas, the secretary of homeland security.
After Wray stated that the FBI was unsure of what injured Trump, there were days of speculation. However, on Friday, the FBI confirmed that Trump had been struck by a bullet, according to Newsweek.
“What struck former President Trump in the ear was a bullet, whether whole or fragmented into smaller pieces, fired from the deceased subject’s rifle,” the bureau said in a statement.
“I assume that’s the best apology that we’ll get from Director Wray, but it is fully accepted!” Trump posted in a reply on Truth Social.
