In a recent Teen Vogue interview, Elon Musk’s transgender daughter, Vivian, opened up about her transition and her strained relationship with her father. Vivian, now 20, revealed that obtaining medical support for her transition was complicated by her father’s lack of involvement.
“He was not as supportive as my mom,” she told Teen Vogue in a recent interview.
“First of all, I had not talked to him in months — in months — so I had to get f–king parental consent to get testosterone blockers and [hormone replacement therapy].”
In contrast, Vivian’s mother, Justine Wilson, embraced her daughter’s journey. “She was very supportive of my transition. She is a published writer of supernatural romance fiction, which is where I get all my Vivian-isms,” Vivian told the outlet.

“When I came out to her, she was like, ‘Yeah, that figures,'” she added. “She kind of [pieced it together], so when I came out, she pretended to be slightly surprised for 30 seconds and then was like, ‘Yeah, honey. Okay.'”
Vivian expressed strong criticism of her father, the Tesla CEO. “He’s a pathetic man-child,” she told Teen Vogue. “Why would I feel scared of him? Ohhh, he has so much power. Nah, nah, nah. I don’t give a f–k. Why should I be scared of this man? Because he’s rich? Oh, no, I’m trembling. Ooh, shivering in my boots here.”
Dismissing her father’s wealth and influence, Vivian maintained her stance. “I don’t give a f–k how much money” he has. “I don’t. I really don’t. He owns Twitter. OK. Congratulations,” she continued.

The situation escalated in June 2022 when Vivian filed to change her name, adopting her mother’s surname. The filing cited both gender identity and her desire to sever ties with her biological father.
Two years later, Musk claimed he had been deceived regarding Vivian’s medical transition. “They call it ‘deadnaming’ for a reason. The reason they call it ‘deadnaming’ is because your son is dead. My son Xavier is dead — killed by the woke-mind virus,” he claimed.
Responding to her father’s comments, Vivian asserted she looked “pretty good for a dead bitch” and emphasized that she had “disowned” him, “not the other way around.”
