For quite some time, the emergence of COVID-19 in the United States threw just about everyone for a loop. Many Americans had questions about the virus, the potential dangers it may have posed, and its origin story.
As time passed, more information came out about COVID-19. However, additional questions were also posed. Some people observed the theory that COVID-19 came to be as a result of a lab leak. Though folks like White House medical adviser Anthony Fauci repeatedly threw cold water on this theory.
However, new information has come out that potentially implicates government officials in a cover-up of what is believed to be COVID-19’s true origin story.
Earlier this week, Rep. James Comer (R-KY) explained Fauci was well aware of reports that legitimized the lab leak theory. Yet despite having this knowledge, Comer alleges that Fauci used grant money to have scientists collectively refute the notion that COVID-19 leaked from a lab.
Comer not only claims to have evidence of this, but he also says Fauci intentionally pushed the narrative that COVID-19 was the result of a virus evolving from animals.
Currently quite a crew meeting in Jim Jordan’s office: Rand Paul, Grassley, Ron Johnson, Roger Marshall, and Comer. Am told they’re mainly discussing Fauci and potential COVID investigations.

The evidence the House Republican claims to have includes emails that talk about putting a different spin on the lab leak theory, along with other relevant bits of information.
If what Comer is saying pans out, it would not mark the first time that Fauci was less than truthful. During a congressional hearing, Fauci once testified that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) had no role in funding gain-of-function research.
It was not long after that until the NIH admitted to funding this exact research and doing so on the dime of the American taxpayer.
Holding Fauci Accountable
Many Republican lawmakers take issue with how Fauci approached the pandemic, the mixed messages he put out, and the things he may have known behind the scenes.
GOP lawmakers, such as Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) are joining Comer and vowing to hold Fauci accountable. In fact, after Paul secured reelection just last week, he vowed to subpoena each and every document from Fauci.

“I will subpoena every last document of Dr. Fauci.”

When it comes to the origins of COVID-19 and many other details surrounding this virus, transparency has been nowhere in sight. Many Americans remain hopeful that the work of Comer, Paul, and other Republicans will change this.
