Netanyahu IRRITATED By Harris’s CRITICISM
It has been claimed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was irritated by the public comments made by Vice President Kamala Harris following their discussion that lasted for about an hour. In addition to bringing the hostages who were held captive by Hamas back to their homes, the purpose of the meeting was to discuss the necessity of a ceasefire agreement.
It is the first time that Harris has met with a foreign leader since the commencement of her presidential campaign in 2024, and the meeting that she had with Netanyahu (Bibi) is significant.
According to Israeli authorities, Netanyahu was taken aback by the tone of Harris’ speech, which addressed the necessity of putting an end to the human misery that is occurring in Gaza without addressing the issue.
“What has happened in Gaza over the past nine months is devastating. The images of dead children and desperate hungry people fleeing for safety sometimes displace for the second, third, or fourth time. We cannot look away in the face of these tragedies. We cannot allow ourselves to become numb to the suffering, and I will not be silent,” Harris proclaimed.
Officials from Israel have expressed their alarm about what they perceive to be a change in strategy between the two partners.
“When there is such daylight, it pushes the deal further out into the future and brings a regional escalation closer to being realized.” According to a statement made by an Israeli official, “We hope that Harris’ public criticism of Israel will not give Hamas the impression that there is daylight between the United States and Israel, which would make it more difficult to reach a satisfactory agreement.”
Harris’s faulty assumption that a hostage and ceasefire deal will automatically mark the end of the war is the source of the difference that exists between the thoughts expressed by the vice president and the position taken by Israel.
In addition, one of Vice President Kamala Harris’s assistants commented on the uncertainty that existed between Harris’s public address and her public backing of Netanyahu behind closed doors.
In the same way that she usually does, Kamala has “rock-solid support for Israel on the one hand and concern about civilian casualties and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza on the other hand,” according to the staffer.
