The left has to have someone to target that makes a lot of money and is on the opposite side of the political realm. They’ve chosen Elon Musk, arguably the wealthiest person on earth, and it hasn’t gone well for them.
After Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) failed in her attempts, Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) took her opportunity to go after Musk as well.
First of all, who cares what another person makes? It’s insignificant in the political arena and, honestly, nobody’s business. What you’re hearing is jealousy and envy for Musk’s accomplishments. The left is losing right now, and they have to come after someone to make themselves feel better. It’s weak.
Congress, which works with budgets and money with little to no restrictions, can’t balance the federal government’s budget given the amount of debt the United States is currently facing. Why would anyone listen to any politicians about their finances?
One user replied to Jayapal’s tweet, saying:
It’s all subjective.
Maybe the subsequent legislation should make sure Congress pays their fair share for stock trades. Wouldn’t that be something?
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s wealth has increased from $41 million in 2004 to almost $115 million now. Pelosi also said a straightforward “no” to banning Congress from trading stocks. Interesting how she’s excellent with a system that benefits her. Pelosi also said, “We’re in a free market economy. They should be able to participate in that.”
