Prominent Pro-Democrat Communications Firm Hires Pete Buttigieg’s Partner

Chasten Buttigieg, husband of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, joined KNP Communications as a senior consultant, according to an Oct. 3 press release from the company.

In the press release, the company championed Chasten Buttigieg as “a New York Times bestselling author and LGBTQ+ advocate,” but many are questioning his qualifications for the role.

Buttigieg has a background as a theater artist and middle school drama teacher. When Pete Buttigieg ran for president in 2020, Chasten subsequently published a memoir entitled, “I Have Something to Tell You.”

KNP Communications, at least ostensibly, appears to believe in Chasten.

“Chasten brings a wealth of experience as an advocate who knows what it means to forge a meaningful connection with an audience,” said KNP Managing Partner Matthew Kohut. “He understands that great communication begins with authenticity.”

In 2021, Kohut wrote about his belief that America “is at war with a toxic ideology that has taken root among more than a third of the population.” He made the outrageous estimation that the toxic ideologies of “white supremacy,” “xenophobia,” and “misogyny” had taken root with 86 million Americans.

The ties between the Democratic Party and KNP Communications are well known. Since 2009, the company has received nearly $850,000 from Democratic sources. This includes $89,000 during the 2021-2022 election cycle.

Their own website states that the company “has helped elect Democratic candidates to office at the national, state, and local level since 2006.”

Speaking of the new role, Chasten Buttigieg expressed his elation.

“I am thrilled to be joining the team at KNP and to have the opportunity to share my experiences as a theater artist, middle-school teacher, and campaigner with our clients,” he said.

His husband, Pete Buttigieg, continues to pop up in rumors as a potential presidential candidate in 2024. He is expected to visit Wenatchee, Washington later this week to celebrate the Apple
