A heartwarming connection emerged when “Love Is Blind” star Leo Braudy revealed that “Real Housewives” alum Jill Zarin reached out through social media, hoping to introduce him to her daughter Ally Shapiro.
Among numerous messages from Jewish mothers attempting matchmaking, Braudy noticed Zarin’s verified account standing out. The timing coincided with Shapiro’s recent separation from her former fiancé Jordan Bilfeld.

During Art Basel in Miami, Zarin orchestrated their first meeting with an open-minded approach, suggesting they could become either friends or potentially more. Her instincts about their compatibility proved accurate, albeit not in the romantic way she initially envisioned.
The pair discovered numerous shared experiences and interests. Both have backgrounds in the art world, with Shapiro’s previous work at an auction house complementing Braudy’s art dealing career. Their Jewish heritage and shared experiences with reality television created additional common ground.

Most poignantly, they connected over their experiences with losing parents to cancer – Braudy having lost both parents, and Shapiro her stepfather, Bobby Zarin, in 2018.
Despite their strong connection, both quickly recognized their relationship would flourish better as a friendship. As Braudy explains, their instant rapport felt destined for a platonic bond rather than romance.
Currently maintaining a low-key social life, Braudy describes himself as “shockingly boring” in the dating department, focusing instead on meaningful friendships like the one he shares with Shapiro.
