During Monday night’s Knicks game at Madison Square Garden, comedian Tracy Morgan fell ill and vomited courtside during the second half, causing a brief delay in the game.
Video footage showed the 56-year-old comedian being wheeled away from the scene, appearing unsteady and with blood visible from his nose.
The incident caused a 10-minute pause during the third quarter of the Knicks’ eventual 116-95 victory over the Miami Heat.
A Madison Square Garden spokesperson stated, “We hope Tracy feels better soon and look forward to seeing him back courtside.”

Morgan, who lives with diabetes and received a kidney transplant in 2010, has faced significant health challenges before. In 2014, he survived a devastating crash when a Walmart truck collided with his limo on the New Jersey Turnpike. The accident left him comatose for two weeks, requiring wheelchair use for five months and extensive rehabilitation. Tragically, the crash claimed the life of his friend and mentor, comedian James McNair, known as “Uncle Jimmy Mac.”
In 2017, Morgan reflected, “I suffered some terrible injuries — traumatic brain injury. I broke every bone in my face, my ribs. I pulverized my femur. I’m from the ghetto, and after I came out the coma I was blind for a week, and where I come from you don’t want to be blind for a second. All kinds of s*** started coming up missing in my hospital room.”
Pray for Tracy Morgan! He had to be wheel-chaired out of Madison Square Garden tonight after throwing up while sitting court-side at the Knicks game… hope he’s ok. https://t.co/OySGQs5h4e

A decade after the accident, Morgan extended forgiveness to the truck driver. He released a statement in June 2024 saying, “Today is 10 years since our fateful accident, and I want to say to everyone who was in the van with me that night I Love you, and we miss you, Uncle Jimmy Mac and God bless your family. To the driver that night and his family, me and my comrades forgive you.”
Following the accident, Morgan filed a negligence lawsuit against Walmart, claiming the driver had been forced to work after an 11-hour commute, resulting in over 24 hours without sleep. Walmart’s legal team disputed these claims, arguing that Morgan and other passengers weren’t wearing seatbelts. The case concluded with an undisclosed settlement in 2015.
