Trump Visit Georgia, Sets Politics Aside

Former President Donald Trump visited Valdosta, Georgia, on Monday following Hurricane Helene, urging everyone to put politics aside as the southeastern United States works to recover from the destruction caused by high winds, severe flooding, and debris flows.

During his visit, Trump toured damaged areas with Reverend Franklin Graham and members of his charity organization, Samaritan’s Purse, assisting in delivering and distributing supplies, including clean bottled water and gasoline, to those affected by the storm.

“As you know, our country is in the final weeks of a hard-fought national election. But in a time like this when a crisis hits, when our fellow citizens cry out in need, none of that matters. We’re not talking about politics now. We have to all get together and get this solved,” Trump stated.

“They have to have a lot of help down here. We look out for one another, we pull together, we pitch in, we persevere, and we pull it through,” he added. “That is really the American spirit, that’s what made America originally great. And that’s why today I’ve come to Valdosta with large semi trucks, many of them, filled with relief aid and a tanker truck filled up with gasoline — we have a couple of the big tanker trucks filled up with gasoline which they can’t get now.”

In closing, Trump expressed gratitude to Graham and Samaritan’s Purse for their swift assistance in coordinating relief efforts in the wake of the devastating storms.

However, Trump did not entirely steer clear of politics, criticizing President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for not doing enough in response to the storm immediately after it struck the United States.
