Lee Greenwood Defends Trump Bible Sales

Popular singer Lee Greenwood backed former President Donald Trump’s sales of a special Bible that includes a number of American messages after some criticism. The former president appeared on social media last week offering the Bible produced by the singer and endorsed by Trump personally.

Trump received criticism for selling copies of the King James Bible that includes the Constitution, Bill of Rights, Pledge of Allegiance and Declaration of Independence. It also included the lyrics of Greenwood’s popular song “God Bless the U.S.A.”

“If I have to tell you some shocking news, I believe people on the left are actually faith-based and Christian and shame on them for attacking President Trump for putting his best foot forward, saying this country needs more faith, because I think a lot of the left are Christians, they just hate Donald Trump so very much, he could be selling utensils and they would find something wrong with that,” Greenwood said.

The Bibles sell for $60.

“Happy Holy Week! Let’s Make America Pray Again. As we lead into Good Friday and Easter, I encourage you to get a copy of the God Bless The USA Bible,” wrote Trump on social media.

Greenwood shared the video of Trump selling the version of the Bible on social media.

“It’s a very sad thing that’s happening in our country. But we’re going to get it turned around,” Trump said. “Religion and Christianity are the biggest things missing from this country and I truly believe that we need to bring them back and we have to bring them back fast. I think it’s one of the biggest problems we have.”

“That’s why our country is going haywire — we’ve lost religion in this country.” said Trump.

“Christians are under siege,” the former president said. “We love God. And we have to protect anything that is pro-God. We must defend God in the public square and not allow the media or the left wing groups to silence, censor or discriminate against us.”
