Ohio GOP Endorses Trump

The Ohio Republican Party formally endorsed former President Donald Trump for the party’s presidential nomination this week. The news comes as the former president has accumulated a significant number of endorsements from elected officials and conservative figures.

The party announced on X, formerly known as Twitter, that Trump was “the right choice in this moment.”

Ohio Republican Party Chairman Alex M. Triantafilou wrote that Trump has “proven time and again that despite the unhinged and relentless attacks from the radical left, he will never give up on fighting for Ohio’s workers, business and families.”

Triantafilou said that Trump’s unapologetic leadership and commitment to putting America First is exactly what we need to reverse course from the failed policies of Joe Biden and Sherrod Brown,” referencing Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH).

Brown is up for reelection next year and faces a potentially difficult electoral landscape.

The state Republican chair credited Trump’s foreign policy and trade record, as well as the significant increase in energy production during his administration. He wrote that “President Trump knows how to get things done.”

Furthermore, the party leader wrote that the GOP should “coalesce around the clear choice at the top of the ticket” so that they could focus on next year’s election.

Beyond state parties, the former president has also received support from various related organizations. The Washington D.C. Young Republican Club gave their nod to the former president.

On social media, the group wrote that it is “proudly Ultra MAGA and endorse Donald J. Trump for President in 2024.”

In addition, Trump recently received the endorsement of Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS) and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R).

In particular, Abbott cited Trump’s record on border security and commitment to stopping the flow of illegal immigration.
