The Democrats are back at it again with their precious face masks! Unelected governor of New York Kathy Hochul raised eyebrows after she put out an announcement urging parents to cover their children’s mouths with face coverings.
There is just one catch… it is not for Covid-19 this time around. Hochul deemed the announcement necessary following a reported increase in cases of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).
RSV is a minor virus, typically causing mild, cold-like symptoms, according to the CDC.
“It’s really frightening,” Hochul said on the matter.
“Infants as young as six months old have been known to contract this. It’s hard to keep kids safe. You think about the fact that a year ago, before a year ago, a lot of kids were wearing masks in a daycare center or in schools and that did give them some level of protection,” she said during a news conference, ignoring the reality that cloth and surgical masks do little to block aerosols.
“We’re not mandating this but we’re saying, parents you got other kids…and you got a baby at home, you really might just want to take these extra precautions,” she added.
“I’m telling you guys, this mask madness isn’t going away unless Democrats get destroyed in elections,” argued Outkick founder Clay Travis.
“‘K!l!ing your kids to own the libs” isn’t winning campaign slogan you think it is,’” a dissenting commenter wrote in response, seemingly in an attempt to equivocate the criticism of masking children with causing them death.

Kathy Hochul has been well-known for pushing various far-left policies as the New York state governor on issues ranging from Covid-19, second amendment rights, and crime. She has consequently faced a bit of pushback, notably getting sued in July by Republican congressional candidate from New York Carl Paladino for alleged anti-second amendment legislation that she pushed out following a Supreme Court ruling on guns the previous month. At the end of last year, Nassau County Executive-elect Bruce Blakeman publicly and proudly proclaimed that he would not enforce Gov. Kathy Hochul’s new statewide mask-or-vaccine mandate at the time. In spite of all this, Hochul has continued to press on with her far-left agenda.
No need to take our word for it though. Look at this statement from earlier in the week where the unelected governor argued that masking is now just a regular part of life for American children.
“By now, kids are more socialized to the idea of wearing masks, its not as strange to them, it’s not as like—what is this all about? There are a lot of really cute masks out there. I’ve seen a lot of them, so that’s something I’m really encouraging all parents to consider for their children.”
This is normal now. Let that sink in.
